Home of the Year series featuring late Hugh Wallace will air, RTÉ confirms

THE 2026 instalment of the Home of the Year series featuring late judge Hugh Wallace will air next month, RTÉ has confirmed. Renewed appeal for information on collision which caused death of pensioner

GARDAÍ have renewed their appeal for information about a collision in Co. Laois which caued the death of a pedestrian. Officers were called to the incident on Main Street in Abbeyleix at around 7pm on Wednesday, January 28. Teenage girl in critical condition following collision between car and two pedestrians

A TEENAGE girl is in a critical condition in hospital following a collision in Co. Offaly. The young girl, who Gardaí confirm is in her mid-teens, was one of two pedestrians injured in the incident, which happened in Clara last night. New research project will investigate cause of Lough Neagh contamination

A NEW research project will launch next month to discover the cause of the contamination of Lough Neagh. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
