On July 2, Ciaran Staunton introduced the Rory Staunton Sepsis Video at the opening of the first National Irish Sepsis Summit held in Dublin, Ireland. The Rory Staunton Foundation was set up in 2013 by Orlaith and Ciaran Staunton in honor of their son. Rory died at age 12 after he contracted sepsis from a cut he received in gym class.
