For decades now, Irish America has sought out and recognized the best and the brightest Irish-American and Irish-born leaders in the financial sphere for its Annual Wall Street 50, and this year will is no exception. The fifty honorees are an extraordinary, inspiring, and diverse group – from standout rising stars to masterful Wall Street veterans – they represent many of the top financial firms in the world and show the global reach of the Irish.
This year’s keynote speaker was Jane McCooey a distinguished legal professional and community leader who bridges corporate leadership with impactful civic engagement. Jane’s most recent accomplishments include starting a new role as the Executive Director and Chief of Staff to the Chief Information Officer of Enterprise Technology & Services at Morgan Stanley, being the Founder and CEO of Women with Ambition, and participating in the Centre of Democracy & Peace Building Leadership Fellowship.
The honorees were joined by prominent members of the Irish American community at a gala dinner on October 27th at the New York Yacht Club. Included among the celebrants were Consul General Gerald Angley who congratulated the honorees, and the founders of Irish America magazine, Niall O’Dowd and Patricia Harty, and spoke of the many Irish firms now doing business in the U.S. Music was provided by Irish tenor Ciaran Sheehan (Phantom of the Opera star), and iconic folk singer Judy Collins, famous for both her music and her activism.
